Your Someday Homework

In a corner of the deep forest
where the sun shines
laid down on lone stump
It's your someday homework

You have to do it someday
You knew that your someday homework

You do that
If you've remembered, it's about time
divide into the deep forest
where the sun shines
it left intact on lone stump
let's do your someday homework

You have to do it someday
let's do your someday homework

You are sitting on a stump
get on with your someday homework
that's not the point
warm sun and refreshing spring breeze
with the light chirping of birds
the sleepiness that gently assaults you
Eventually you will start rowing the boat

Don't go too far
your someday homework was waiting for you
for you to come there and for you to come back there
your someday homework have been waiting for you

A fine poem. Neglected homework truly has metaphorical reach to the unfinished projects in all our lives. A most enjoyable, thought provoking write. Cheers, Brian

"someday homework" is such a lovely term, I wished I had thought of it myself.
