Your okay

Watching his paws twitch
as he watches
the raindrops explode
just beyond our
shelter
Bobs his head towards me
as oils slicked skies
are cracked by spoons and forks of lightning
The aftermathic rumbles brings
his shambles of fur a little closer
and a whine
of a look
Protect me from the thunder
