Your New Year
Petals so soft and sweet, bloom anew
like wishes made on magic shooting stars,
this singular day fills my thoughts with you
and the special beauty behind your scars.
For you, I dream of moments of magic,
for laughter and friends and smiles to share,
and gentle thoughts for a soul so tragic,
although you'll never know how much I care.
I hope your new year brings you love filled sighs
and when it's dark you never feel alone,
for, like the gleam that twinkles in your eyes,
your warmth fills the world with a love unknown.
Your light vanquishes the shadows of my dreams
and illuminates the darkness of my soul.
