Your Mind

Your Mind (for JWE)

your mind, like a child’s
unable to see
past the horizon
sun sets
eyes close
minds close
unable to see

the rivers flow
backwards upon
themselves,
reality fades
as it flows
no end
constant beginning

sight
foresight
hindsight
blinded by rage and
disbelief in what is
heard, seen, felt
when is reality?

whose reality?
did someone
answer your
questions, your
prayers?
or was the silence
the answer?
who’s to tell?

your mind, like a child’s
like so many
not knowing
where to turn
left, right, don’t
go straight
go back
stand still

so many choices
so little time
what are we here
if we are just
going to leave

your reality
my reality
we may never be
the same
we may never see
what the other sees
what the other knows

never knowing
what’s real.
is that the game?
try to find out.
