Your Gift To Me
Soon it will be two years
Since you’re gone
Sometimes it feels like forever
Other times just yesterday
So much has changed
I think by losing you
I was able to find myself
Strange this feeling of peace
That’s settled over me
And quieted the storms
Of my soul
Is this your gift to me
I winder
In life you gave me so much
In death you’ve given me
Something more
What used to bring tears to my eyes
Now brings a smile
The feelings I used to deny myself
In good times and bad
I now welcome
The people I used to take for granted
End even hate sometimes
I now cherish
Soon it will be two years
Since you’re gone
And I still grieve your loss
But now I can also celebrate
The many things that I have found –
Joy, sorrow
Friendship, family –
Life itself
So precious
So fragile
And so wonderful
