Your Eyes – Sonnet

don't look at me like that...you might as well 
seduce me with your good and loving heart...
you really do not need to prove you're smart...
it is enough three words to me to tell...
your eyes though...those are more my soul could bear...
they simply are too deep, too sad, too...blue...
my soul just knows the love you show is true...
but one more look my soul could never wear...
forgive the limitation of my mind...
I simply can't accept a look so sharp...
yet so gentile...I’m shivering inside...
so, briefly, if you’d simply be that kind
and look away, the sounds of angels' harp
would be enough for my soul now to hide...
