Your Eyes

I look into your eyes,
like multifaceted saphires,
shining brightly with your love.

Looking into them, I see your past
one I want to protect you from,
to take away the pain
planted deep, so long ago.
To share the burden
lightens the load.

I see our future reflected
back at me.
I want to keep you
only to me,
for with you, I am alive.
With you in my arms
I am free.
That is the future
that I see.
Us together, at last.
