Your Crown
Your crown
By Michelle Morris

Your crown is your own
It belongs to no one else
Do not give it up to them
Those who would bring you down
Not all who claim to be your friend
Are indeed friends true and pure
Sometimes they're more interested
In getting information to use against you
It seems completely incomprehensible
That people behave in this way
But try to remember that sometimes
They're feeling weak and insecure in themselves
People who have limitations
Will see your crown as a threat
They look into the mirror
And don't see their own crowns reflected
We can do our very best
To be compassionate and kind
Supportive and encouraging
Patient, loving and inspiring
But everything we do counts for zero
For people who can't embrace the light
They will use your generous nature
And take advantage of your kindness
Help them adjust their crowns
Set an example of how to live
And maybe you'll spark the light
That will bloom within their souls
We can be light and love
We can be hope and faith
We can make this world a better place
If we can our highest state embrace
For your crown is your own
And their crown is their own
We are all powerful and mighty
We are kings and queens, yet lowly
Humility and service are our path
Being warriors of light and healing
Leaders in this turbulent world
Inspiring and uplifting humanity
