Your Best Poet Friends

                               Your Best Poet Friends
                                       9/15/2023


            Poet Friends read you first, no matter what!
            They crave your incisive, critique first.
            Chasing new poets, you, leave them as dust?
            Like flowers, they wait for a word, they thirst!


            They are not in search of quippy fast laughs
            Value them first, before any POTD!
            Not out searching for obvious poetry gaffes, 
            Value them, not your grand popularity.


            Friends are people, not just base numbers.
            Thus, comments written with words..so few.
            We bypass our friends, we need our slumber.?
            Worse, use of primary words, heartily,eschewed!


             Don’t allow the sun to set on your face.
             While your friend has very few comments?
             You, chase just numbers, what a disgrace!
             You leave a poet friend in a deep, sad, sonnet 



         
              “Those who do read and soup-mail you.
               Beautiful souls, oh, so very close to you”

Victor Buhagiar September 19, 2023 at 1:10 PM Some poets don't care how many friends (?) read their poems. Mostly they write for themselves. Very few read my poems without waiting for me to read them first. I never abandon friends. But as Charles Dickens once wrote: You compose what you write to be read by others. I find it strange that occasionally I write a poem which I consider below par, and yet it becomes popular. Others I consider great, but get few views. Incredible. Panagiota Romios September 19, 2023 at 1:58 PM I find that, too. Some of my worst poems get read. The best, no.. no sense in trying to figure it out! Writers, write! That’s all there is to it, some will like us, some will never, ever read us, like we are a contagious disease LOL. Just do our best. In any area of life, that is true. A good, soul, a loving heart is who I read, but to be loved? This is not the place,. If you have time you can read a hundred a day, then you will get tonsof comments. I have vision and typing limitations, so I can’t do that, comments don’t mean we are good or lack there of, means we are bad. I wish you well, Victor, you are a first rate poet, count your reads!! We need to be grateful we can write.I do mean that….plus us grateful for long years and great memories, all growing up when God and morality were honored! Hugd, Pangie xx

It does not compute with me. If you don’t like someone, there are hundreds of others to peruse. My problem is that I do not type well, so I can’t contact as many people as I would like.? and we do have personal lives also. Including animals.. and we must take care of our bodies I forget, eating many times.. but I can express my gratitude for being able to thank, right and express myself as well so I can. And hopefully along the way, make a friend or two.. indeed there are beautiful souls here. With gratitude, panagiota.

I think being a poet is a sensitive human being. Just because one has been here 5 or 10 years does not, should not, disqualify you or I from being read. I comprehend friendship as a caring relationship. I feel that with you and others. I won’t throw our relationship overboard chasing new poets some new ones..
