Your Beating Heart

You cannot hear a footfall,
in a forest
Deepening silence
Deepening night

I could feel its' heartbeat
Through my capped hands
Jewelled feathers, silent and still,
in the forest lands

You cannot hear footfalls,
in the forest
Buried in the rustle of the night
Night calls

I lie awake...
Waiting for you
You cannot hear a footfall,
in the forest

I felt your beating heart,
through my body
Jewelled eyes, bright
In the forest of the night

You cannot hear a footfall,
in the forest of the night
I hear your beating heart
jewelled eyes, burning bright

My body can hear...
Your heart beating
In the forest of the night
The moon...
glowing in glorious light

In the forest ,
footfall in the night
Wildly beating heart
Eyes, jewelled and bright
Coming to me
