Your Arms

You're sad so I embrace you 'For good luck' I say I don't want to let go Pressed up against you Feel your warmth radiate Through your thin sweater Your chest beats against my breast And I can't catch my breath I want to press my lips To your exposed neck But I resist instead inhaling The scent of your cologne It's been a long time since We have been this close You rub my back and I step away Knowing that you Do not belong to me But I can't help but remember How it felt to be in your arms And then life goes on
