Young Love I Envy Not

Young love I envy not:
Bemusing time
Of upset hearts
And inept kisses
When lofty dreams
With passion zoom
Through twists and turns
And dead-end chases—

No, I prefer my love mature,
In marriage steady,
Two hearts content,
When each brief kiss
Renews a vow
And each sly glance
Stirs memories
Of young bemusing love.
