Young Emerald Tree Boa

they must think I am color-blind or color-unaware
but I am aware, because I am an artist.
I am orange with black and silver markings.
how dare they call me a young emerald tree boa
what part of me is emerald? I ask defiantly.

Intriguing..the title and the content. People try to label…give us colors that don’t belong or that just aren’t quite us…we do it too. Love the first line color-blind & color-unaware. By the way, I love observing koi!!

I enjoyed this poem Karen. Koi are indeed not emerald tree boa(s). And they are lovely to watch, which you have so briefly and poetically stated.

I am trying to figure out how I ended up with Koi as a title for a poem about a boa?
