Young Boy

Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: Young Boy
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan

When
I was
a
young boy
my
friends,
and I
would
play
on this
dirt road,
the
whole
day through -

We'd play
spinning top,
shoot marbles,
and
if a girl
came around,
we
would even
play
Hopscotch -

Just before
the sun
went down,
we would
 run
to the well,
 to get
our last
ladle
of water -

I
would
run back
down
the dirt
road,
fast
as I can,
to
the screaming
voice
of
my mother,
calling
for me
to come
home -

Those
were the
youthful
days
of my
life -

I miss
this time
when I
was
young -
