You'De Never Know
This is a story of people you knew,
And you’ll be quit surprised when you find that it’s true.
It starts in a place very similar to this.
Built of concrete walls and gates within.
You’ll see many people yet none of them alike.
But a young girl will stand out and be seen many times.
She’ll sit all alone to ponder her thoughts,
And with her a notebook she’ll be writing a lot.
Not like the others you’ll notice that fast,
She’ll look up with a smile when you slowly pass.
She may not talk but having a lot to say,
It’s all in the little book, to bad it’s hidden away.
She holds so tight so no one may see,
The many of pages, poems written in ink.
She has a variety from happy to sad,
And even some one’s that will give you a laugh.
It’s too bad the world will never get to see,
The wonderful talent she has for these things.
I wonder why it is, she hides them away.
Could it be that she’s just simply ashamed?
That maybe the world might not understand,
Why she holds her heart in the pages at hand.
Well, knowing she’s gifted she feels it inside.
Having the ability to write in rhyme.
Now if only I could just gain her trust,
I know she would share with all of us.
The secrets that she holds so dear,
Of happiness and sorrow, Tear-by-tear.
But I know that day will never come,
For that trust is something that can’t be won.
She’s been hurt too bad to let me in,
So I guess her secrets will die within.
