You Wrote Loves Saddest Song

You wrote the words
I just put em all down
The words on this paper
Might as well be a frown

Instead it’s a replay
Of love 15 years wrong
You wrote love’s saddest song

You wrote the meaning
Of what it’s like to hate
So I turned to the bottle
And tried to escape

I can’t help but feeling
Like all hope is gone
You wrote love’s saddest song

I’m still reliving
Every word said to me
I’ve seen love that was broken
But not to this degree

This isn’t a house
And it sure ain’t a home
You wrote love’s saddest song

You wrote the meaning
Of what it’s like to hate
So I turned to the bottle
And tried to escape

I can’t help but feeling
We’ve been here too long
You wrote love’s saddest song

If Life is love
And Loves is a lie
Why be born with a soul
Only to die

I know where I’m wanted
And where I don’t belong
You wrote love’s saddest song

You wrote love’s saddest song
