you wonder
You wonder who I am
You wonder who I’ll be
But never did you stop to wonder
The future that I see
I think myself, what will be
I think, I think, I think
At every party, every time
At every smile, at every wink
I am the girl in the back of my mind
The one that sits and holds back tears
There’s no one else I ever knew
Until one day she disappears
And out came a star
A little, blunt desire
At first a little breeze
And then a raging fire
Identification was not possible
For who knew what hope even meant?
I’ve never heard of something like joy
Though my heart is where it went
Somewhere in the distance
The farthest ever gone
Even ice feels astray
On the mountain it is on
But who knew one day I’ll be
The one that holds its hand
Engraves it on a stone
Writes its name in sand
It whispers of a past
One that was once sweet
But that life has learned to part with
Now only a foreign treat
And that girl in my mind
The one that sits and holds back tears
Still cries from time to time
But learns about what she bears
It only took one little spark
The one that broke my heart
For all the ice slowly melted
Every. Single. Part.
It took that pain, it took the days
The darkest ones of time
It took the coldest weeks of all
Without any reason or rhyme
But here it is still growing yet
A vagrant in its find
But here I built a home for joy
In my broken mind
