You Were My Foe

You were my foe
Now only friend
Thank God it’s over
Alone we stand

Let’s not look back
No need to blame
Damage is done,
Nothing’s the same

Can’t turn back time
Bring back the dead
What’s gone forever?
What can be saved?

Wait for the wind
To clear the smoke
Our wounds will heal
I truly hope

Let’s pray it never
Happens again
The sun will rise
Darkness will end

Let’s not look back
No need to blame
I do forgive
Nothing’s the same
