You Were Made For Me

(to my prescription lenses)

Without you, the crisp blue summer sky
is a Tule fog. I have no focus.
I wander about, feeling every surface
for a pulse.

Near-sighted in the present,
blurred about the future,
20/20 only if I look behind.

With you, my world shines clear.
In your plain brown frame
I keep you closer than my hand.
Vision of my eyes.
