You Turned the World Upside Down

I wake up in the morning fixing the broken strings of my worn-out soul,
You're in the kitchen cooking magical things that smell like revived hope,
While I sit here composing a song about you and about us,
You keep checking my breathing—asking if I'm good, worried about my health.

I thought a dime was all I was worth—that I had nothing left to fight for,
That on this dry earth there was no meaning left for my existence,
Then you came and gave me the whole world shining like a cosmic diamond,
You took it from the universe and put it in the palm of my hand like a living prayer.

You make me a better man—you make me stop and think twice,
I was never the type to think twice before jumping into the void,
I had no purpose, no reason, no light in all this existential chaos,
All my rushing was toward nothing—a void that swallowed me slowly but surely.

I'd wake up in the morning just driving on roads without precise destination,
I'd crash into poles but still keep driving—self-destructive and hypnotized,
I was black-hearted, numb to any feeling or authentic emotion,
But you turned the world upside down—and for the better this time at last.

Now my breath is no longer empty—you check it to make sure I'm alive,
You cook in the kitchen while I compose poems about how you saved me,
You took the entire universe and put it in my palms like a psychedelic miracle,
And for the first time in my life—I have a reason to stay and fight for love.
