You Took What You Needed

I prepared the meal In the twinkling of any eye I placed flowers in your hand That was foolish Because soon things sank in the sand We met again and reality set in! We had some disagreements and It seems we were finish before we even started! Tell me, how did you go from someone I believed in Into somebody so prideful Taking what you need to feed your purpose! You said you asked God if you should ask But did not ask Him if you should leave! I applaud you Taking what you need to feed your purpose! As you burn with anger You showed your true colours Your divorce melted the pain deep into your soul You became cold I was the one who was bold! There was so much room in my heart But things change the second Saturday and I guess that stems from your divorce! Even though you were older You were colder I never said I was an angel Taking what you need to feed your purpose But no worries I guess I did the same You view men in a different light The fight in your life isn’t over Even though you were alone so Tell me, how did you go from someone I believed in, Into somebody so prideful but I guess that stems from your divorce! I never said I was an angel I applaud you As you burn with anger You showed your true colours I don’t like what I see Because I am no angel! You are so prideful and You made your beauty Turn into ashes when you left Mark Frank [Written March 31] Copyright 2022
