You, the Sun, the Power

YOU, THE SUN, THE POWER

The sun rushes quickly over trees and boulders
across rivers and fields of different blooming flowers
it knows not shadows or shade
it comes to my doorstep and halts

The sun, the beast,
rushes to attack the weak and sickly pale
perking sad lovers alabaster pallor
brightening peoples lives

When your life goes rotten on you
there’s nowhere to turn
remember you are the power
you hold the keys to the kingdom

You carry the key of love to the world
you are the warrior
you are the answer to all questions
you are the alpha and omega of you

And the planet you live on
you have a brain to think, use it
but think constructively
build for all people not to create chaos

The dictators may roar like lions
but it is you who rides the gazelle to the horizon
but the lover lives to tame the beast
and ride the gazelle across the sky to the future

Love, only Love, will conquer the beasts of life

Lovers will always choose Love as the weapon
"The world is yours and everything that’s in it,"
the poet said
"If you can keep the beast at bay," said another

To love, to befriend, to be kind, to give, to show benevolence,
to move life forward to a more fruitful future
or to kill and destroy all we know, to oblivion ...

It's our choice.
