You Stand Out
Whispers float, gently across a sunless sky
a little note, opens wide these sullen eyes
a faint heart beats strong again
thinking of not then, but when
when we'll be together, as one
watching forever, the rising sun
skipping rocks and holding hands
kicking off shoes, building castles in the sand
building a life, turning a house into a home
sharing smiles and secrets, never to be alone
In a world full of souls, many searching too
In a world of diversity, people of many hues
filled with choices and beautiful voices
taking many a path, a found love rejoices
it takes a special heart to stand out
to rise above
to show me your love
there has never been a doubt
baby, you stand out
