You Sold Your Soul
This poem / song is inspired by the many famous people out there, particularly in the entertainment industry, who sell their souls to get ahead in their business. Oftentimes, they lose their way and never recover.
You sold your soul

You sold your soul
For fame and shiny toys;
Wanted all that was shallow,
Including no good boys.
You never counted the cost,
Until it was too late;
You were empty inside,
From that too open gate...
Of letting the bad influences in,
Just to get you through;
Selling your soul is easy,
When you think you
Have nothing to lose.
Too many parties,
The faces a blur;
Drugs and alcohol
Kept your body impure...
Add to that the loveless
Couplings in the back of your limo,
And your aura started to lose
All of its shimmer.
The X factor that made you
Shine like a star
Soon faded to a
Nothing murmur.
And that life that you
Sold your soul for,
No longer remained -
They moved on to someone else,
Without any shame.
