You Should Have Staid

You're nothing more than a song or a crude sculpture that i made I made you into something beautiful but you're not I handcrafted this illusion a pitiful scheme in love a lie upon a story covering up a truth I had forgot I painted you a picture a gallery of lies and desire all this art fleshed out in nothing even their beauty had no chance in your fire You were my sun shining through the rain my placebo to fight back the endless pain You were my Christmas in the coldest Winter But now I see what I wouldn't remember It's true that I'm nothing more than a spineless coward too much heart to feel impowered So I guess I hid you away I made you into something not real so you would stay I hate to ran on my parade but even now I wish you had staid
