You Said It

You said it You said it there and then You didn’t write it, you didn’t need a pen No thought was needed The words were on your mind What was I thinking? I thought we were two of a kind You stand there in front of me Claiming that you love him It’s just not how it should be You said it; now that you’re gone You’re with him on that side while I’m here lingering on So you found him on the other side of life. All those years together, you were always a worshipped wife You said it and that’s enough for me But here I am alone and as I close my eyes for the last time, alone I’ll always be.
