You Reach, I Teach

You're drowning in your fear and it cuts deep into me but i won't bleed.
Looking into your eyes i have seen the trepadation materializing for weeks.
You won't even utter a whisper, you fall so quickly to your knees and just look up at me.
I place my hand on your cheek. your skin so soft, so delicate, but so cold.
You can't help the cards that you've been dealt, but now isn't the time to fold!
Are you alive or are you falling asleep?
Get off of your bruised knees.
Don't let a single tear fall down your cheek.
Thoughts surface into my mind, but I have never thought that you were weak.
Lift yourself from this wreck, step up to the deck.
This is not your last night.
These are precious moments of your life.
So carry on my darling, I'll always be on your side.
From dusk till the break of dawn.
Your heart shows scars, but you are strong.
You taught me how to reach the stars, now I teach you to believe that you belong.
Your purpose in this life is now yours to palm.

Excellent uplifting poem. To stand beside someone and expect nothing in return takes a very special person. A. W. Nutter www.freewebs.com/abcedit
