You Put a Song In My Heart

You put a song in my heart
The day you were born
And when he took you away
My heart was torn.

I knew you were special
The moment you cried
With tiny features
Your destiny couldn’t hide.

With every heart beat
I prayed for more time
To hold your little body
And sing you life’s rhyme.

You were born an angel
A special gift from above
And I only had eight days
To give you all my love.

He polished your halo
And said it’s time to go
And with your hand in mine
I watched your wings grow.

You put a song in my heart
That never went away
And I still feel your love
Watching over me every day.

Your poem touches me deeply because I, too, have a child that was born to god. My son, who was full-term, died in my belly the night before I was scheduled to deliver. It's such a tragic and profoundly sad loss and it takes a long time to heal...but you do heal, and you will, in time. We just have to trust that God's Plan is too great for us to understand just now, but eventually we will understand, and we will be reunited with our little angels again one day. You're in my thoughts & prayers
