You Or Me

Tell me to whom shall I entreat and fall down on my knees
To beseech lenity ; to cry for impunity

To implore for the salvation
from the bane of infernal love
from the pain of bruised heart

To plead for the freedom
from the subjection of fervent passion
from the servitude of unrequited affection

Alas! Who to blame
When I was the one who forged the bond
Stippled the shackles and soldered the chains
To build my own cage

If only I knew
That one innocent smile and the unsullied glow of your eyes
Would, day by day, weave a web around me
Would ensnare me in the hooks of ardency

Should've severed the chains
Should've cut the threads with my own hands

Alas! Too late

Please tell me now to whom shall I entreat
And fall down on my knees
To beseech lenity
To cry for impunity
You or me?
