You Once Told Me

You once told me that you liked me, That I was the one you were waiting for. And I thought I was all you could see, But in the end, my heart you tore. You once told me that I was everything, That I was the only one for you. And I thought my soul could sing, But in the end, all your words weren’t true. You once told me that you needed me, That you would live up to every reason for which you liked me. And I thought, wow she really likes me, do you see? But in the end, there was no ‘me and her’, there was no ‘we’.
