My kid gets smarter every day She queries in a thoughtful way: "Are two M.D.'s a paradox? Are kosher fish in spring 'May lox'?" "Go ask your Mom". She says, "I did! She said to ask another kid".

How cute. Sounds like your describing my childhood with all the random (borderline pointless) questions I'd spring on people at the drop of a hat. Inquisitiveness, I think, is a good thing though (even if at times annoying) for it kindles their imagination and thirst for knowledge. Reading this again ... I wonder if there is a subtle allusion at the end, where the child "asked another kid" ergo ... she asked the dad. LOL!

Yep, you nailed it. I'm the grown-up kid. I remember when I was young I had this one really smart friend who nicknamed me, "interrogative". Nobody knew what that meant, but I guess he thought I asked a lot of questions. So my kids grew up like me! Thanks for the great feedback, Timothy. You're right, questions kindle the imagination.

Something to ponder though I do wonder if exploring the virtual world without a trail of breadcrumbs back to the real world is really smart for them or us. Excellent poem though, and relatable. The length gives it extra strength. Will also bring smiles to those in need. Best regards David in NZ

Probably not! Amazing how "smart" our kids get and how-well - out touch parents are until our kids have their own children! Congratulations, my friend, on your top win! Top of the heap - you're the tops! Top hats off to you! Enjoy.
