You Love Me More

I saw your swollen eyes
I tasted the hurt on your lips
I saw the color fade from your face
I felt your heart break
By the doing of my own hands
But no, that wasn’t the hardest part
We had potential
We could’ve worked it out
And that’s the hardest part
We could’ve had it all
If I had fought more
If I had fought even half as hard as you pleaded
You’d still have me
I loved you
But you love me more
