You let me take the burden and now you resent me

In the realm of shadows, where secrets reside, A tale unfolds, of joy and pain combined. A burden so heavy, upon thy weary soul, Where once you leaned, now resentment uncontrolled. Oh, life's cruel twists, like thorns on a rose, Piercing the heart, where affection once flows. You placed upon my shoulders, your worries untold, And now, dear friend, your gratitude turned cold. I stood there beside you, a pillar of might, Shouldering the weight, through day and night. Your troubles were mine, as I so willingly shared, Yet now you recoil, as if I never cared. But listen, dear comrade, to the whispers of truth, For beneath this facade lies a love tried and true. I bore your burdens, with patience and grace, Hoping that one day, a smile would grace your face. Now, resentment may cloud your judgment, it's true, But my commitment remains unwavering, for you. I vowed to be there, when darkness loomed near, To lend you my ear, wipe away every tear. The journey we've taken, together entwined, Through storms and tempests, our spirits aligned. I embraced your challenges, your hopes and despair, And though you resent me now, I still truly care. For friendship is not measured by favors repaid, But in the moments we share, both light and shade. So let not resentment sow seeds of disdain, Let's mend these fractures, and rebuild love's terrain. With gentle persistence, I'll weather this storm, For deep within, I know your heart's still warm. You let me take the burden, your trust you did lend, And together we'll heal, as dear friends till the end.
