You Left, I Held On
We lasted so long,
we loved for what felt like eternity.
You left, and I was heartbroken.
You said you chose me,
but you chose her instead.
I always had a feeling it would be her.
I was right, and you left.
I tried so hard to keep you,
even for just a little longer.
You said you would always love me,
you said you would always care.
That was a lie, because you don’t.
You no longer love me, you no longer care,
while I am stuck,
forever caring, and forever loving you.
You left, but I held on.
