You Have To Become a Shark
she lives life to the maximum
pushing herself off the land into sea
striding toward sharks in still waters
acting as if she only sees octopus
her confidence is unparalleled
the rest of us watch, cowering
fearful of what might happen
as she lives as boldly as any warrior
she is afraid of nothing one says to me
his eyes hold the light of eye
I taught her that, I assure him
proud of my indestructible daughter
is there a way into her heart? He asks me
he is the first one brave enough to ask her father first
I take a long look at him; he might be the one
you have to become a shark, I tell him. She likes bad boys.
