You Don't
You don’t have to stay on high alert all night.
You don’t have to solve the storm before it arrives.
You don’t have to carry the whole house on your shoulders.
You’re allowed to let your body soften a little.
You’re allowed to take your medication tonight.
and let it give you some quiet.
You’re allowed to rest even
if the what-ifs are still whispering.
They don’t get to run the whole night.
