You Can'T Tell Tomorrow
You might be scared by shady shadows
And all you’ve got is a broken barrow
Oh green grass in the valley! Look at the simple sparrows
They live today –no one can tell tomorrow
You might be soaked in sour and sweet sorrows
And all you’ve got are mean, melted marrows
Trying times may be thorns in thy flesh, oh silent swallows
Be hopeful and happy: no one can tear or tempt tomorrow
You might be down, dented by bleeding biros
And all you’ve got is a voice that’s shaky and shallow
There is a voice for the voiceless that will get rid of your shadows
Be upright and unmoved -you’ll one day soar like the sparrows
