You Can'T Take It With You

I've been to my share of home-goings
I've seen my share of funeral processions
but I have never seen a U-Haul truck at one
full of somebody's possessions

you can't take it with you
and even if you could
up in God's Kingdom
it wouldn't do you any good
God will be your sole provider
of all that your soul will require

so why are people amassing great amounts of wealth?
if it won't have any effect on one's spiritual health
why are people buying two and three cars?
you can only drive one at a time and without God you won't get very far
and why are people buying two or more places to dwell?
your soul can only go up to heaven or it will go down to hell

you can't take it with you
so don't even bother to try
the only treasure you can take
will be eternal salvation when you die
