You Can'T Fix Stupid
How do you convince them
to change their ways?
Without intervention, they will die.
In their case,
death will rapidly ensue.
How can you get
through the thick walls.
No amount of education
will penetrate their noodle.
You try repeatedly to
justify your directions.
You let them know,
without aid, they will die.
At least the simple strive for more.
Death knocks resoundingly on their front door.
A time bomb lurks in their gut.
The explosion creeps closer
with every second passed.
No attempts can change
their made up minds.
You let them go with a heavy heart
knowing they may soon be
living in Potter's Field.
The only comfort you have
is knowing you tried to help.
Ultimately, you know
their gene pool is
only a quarter inch deep
and the family tree
is a poplar.
I hate stupid people.
