You Can Run Through the Fire

You can run through the fire
A showman in flames
With soles of steel
Over rakes
Of hot coals,
Your audience gaping
In love
Of forward force.

You can glide through the wave
An acrobatic swell
With agile tongue
And glittering hands
Your audience wowed
In awe
Of slick style.

You can scale through the peaks
A glorious climb
With grappling pride
And summit flags
Your audience wooed
In awe
Of conquered land.

You can do all these things.

The hands that laid the coals
The hands that shaped the board
And
The hands that laid the path—

They Hold You.

They Expose You-
In quiet strength.

For without
These

Humble hands-

You would achieve
Nothing.
