You Can Call Me Darlin', Darlin'

How is it you can call me darlin' then break my heart in two with your lyin' and cheatin' and runnin' after you-know-who. You can call me darlin' but your ways just ain't so sweet. You gamble so much money half the time we got nuthin' to eat. And then, here you come again with that big ol' crazy grin callin' me darlin' causin' my head to spin. Wonder who is the bigger fool you bein' a no-count man or me for wantin' more of you. I just don't understand. So you can call me darlin', darlin' just remember your home base and I'll be here a-waitin' cause you I'd never chase.

Nice job on the rhyme. The content all too well known. I once knew a lady that thought her husband was cheating because he went to a bar every night. The truth is everybody else knew that he was just an alcoholic that seldom went home before morning.... Sad, but true.

Oh! Such a "deja vu" kind of scene.... it is sadly too common and touches a lot of us ... Nicely written Sue! You words just flow naturally. And also thank you for your great review on my poem "proposition of morality"! Salam! (peace!) Nassira
