You Can

YOU CAN

You can LAUGH
when you have lost
all the things you thought were important
and have nothing more to lose,

You can be HAPPY
when what remains
are the things that are
to be treasured forever..
Good character, courage,
Unselfishness and Love
are the traits that never fail,
No matter how many times relationships 
and things material, abandon,

You can be VICTORIOUS
when you conquer
envy, anger, ill-will,
fear and greed,
'cause these are your 
real and greatest enemies,

You can be GLAD
when you rightly guide lost souls
leading them to their own treasures,
as the torchbearer!

Yet, You can still SMILE
without any reason!
Can't you?

Rajashree Prasad August 27, 2015 at 9:58 PM Hello SKAT, LINDA and Silent ONE..... Thanks a lot for your encouragement. Ijust have one problem with the display of my poem, and its a major one. There is a last word in the new stanza which is not displaying as I tried to make it bold as instructed. After every YOU CAN there is adjective like Happy, Glad etc. The format seems to be complicated.

Seriously started writing poetry and am enjoying. Poetry is something which is rich with substance, can tell a story within a few words and there is so much of freedom in creation. It represents my nature, my core self and the state of mind when written. You could pour your heart out, Oh! I just love it!I would like to read everyone else's work too and learn.
