You Are the Instrument
You are the upstream light I long for
High and bright, then gone from sight
As your presence still remains
On pages and pages of my days
I love you like a letter
I need you like a pill
My heart sings when you arrive
Like a soul dive underneath a night sky
I fold over and beam
You are tearing me at the seams
In such a beautiful way
You are the instrument
I must learn how to play
Interlace your mind with mine,
The way you do, the way I dream
I am screaming at life to give me more time
To grant me the courage to help you see
That I love the idea of you and me
How it sounds between a rest and melody
How I would dance if ever I were free
To sustain this budding reverie
