You Are Only As Sick As Your Secrets

a spectral secret holds you down
I suspect you know
that it turns inside you like a sheriff's badge
scraping
scraping
the pin
the edge of the star
across the heart
scraping the lung
back
around
victim victim victim
pounds your heart
oh you've wrung that rag dry dear
we're all yawning
but you can't get rid of that secret
till you tell
and you can give yourself all the fake awards and glory that you want
but
when you tell
your world will blown to hell.

I'm waiting.
