You Are Life

When you’re about to jump-

Stop.

listen to the sound of your breath

Feel the sand in every toe,
Every crevice in your foot
Shut your eyes and feel the winter breeze
Smell the rain,
Laugh even if you feel like jumping-
Even if there’s tears tumbling down,
Watch the clouds morph,
Listen to the sound of your own heartbeat
You are alive
You are the wind, and the air, and the sun and stars all at once,
You are love.
You feel the universe within you
Not because of faith
But because of life
A precious and painful balance-
A gift to feel so greatly and suffer
Like a rollercoaster moments before the drop-
