You Are Gone

I am searching for a place I'm not sure exists. Visions of me coming out from the darkness, slipping into a memorable bliss. The day you left ripped my heart in two. I know how to survive in this world, just not without you. My spirit is broken, my inner peace is gone. Silent tormenting screams echo inside, keeping me from moving on. Anger, pain, longing and sorrow..they flood into me one by one. Fixing myself seems near impossible...when I am constantly reminded that you are gone. Everything is different. Everyone and everywhere has changed. The perfect puzzle you held together is crumbling apart, drastically rearranged. Emptiness consumes me, it's tearing me apart shred by shred. I remember everything about you..from your smile, your beauty and to every word you ever said. When you lose something or someone, it is said that only time can heal. I have been quietly waiting...just to find that time isn't real.7

Awe this makes me sad for you Laken. You expressed your deep emotions very well. I am sorry for your loss and I can relate to this piece as well. And no, there is no such time that will heal, but we just have to be strong. God bless :)

Thank you for the kind words. I lost my best friend 3 years ago and she was my soul sister. I wrote this for her. We do have to be strong. Our strength is our only sanctuary to get us through the storms. bless you as well and again thank you for reading and commenting.

I really like your poetry. The passion, your words emit, is forefront and obvious. Please don't change that!! I enjoy reading something written with such ardor. if I may offer something (hopefully) constructive? Some of your lines seem just a little wordy. I got stumbled up a couple of times throughout your poetry. Nothing too major. I find your use of rhyme very refreshing. Too much free verse and not eough rhyme on poetry soup, or anywhere.

Thank you. Every word comes from my heart. I appreciate the tips! I am new at sharing and I haven't quite learned the difference in them. I will keep that in mind. I am still confused on which form is fitting to which poem. You have made a difference and I am grateful. I love hearing any suggestions anyone has to make.
