You and Me?

As I sit and wait, and gaze into
The ocean deep, so beautifully blue.
My thoughts will escape, they tend to fly
I think of you, and begin to cry.

You’re gone for now, but due to return
My stomach rumbles, it starts to churn.
I guess I’m dreaming, hoping it’s true
That when you come back, it’s me and you.

I know there’s someone, else in your life
This has created turmoil and strife.
Knowing your feelings, trust me I do
I hope it will be, just me and you.

Deep down I pray, that we will still share
Some special times, although it’s unfair.
Sitting at the seawall, passing time
The waves are crashing, and start to climb.

As I am sitting, writing this poem
I’m counting the days, when you’ll be home.
Our relationship, on you depends
If nothing else, we will be good friends.
