You and I
You say you feel the same way I do;
You're afraid you won't find a love that's true.
But you once had love, you had romance;
Now it's my turn, you had your chance.
You had someone who loved and cherished you,
It's not my fault you wanted someone new.
You made your choice, you left him there,
Because you thought he didn't care.
You were blind, you couldn't see,
That all he wanted was eternity.
Eternity hanging off your arm,
Eternity protecting you from harm.
We're not the same, you and I,
I don't know why, but sometimes I cry.
I'm all alone and feel so sad,
While you miss the love you could've had.
