You and I
I reflect in simple writing
that gets the burden off my chest,
you reflect in extraordinary experiences
which on being narrated leave me speechless
I live on the roadside
in a room rented from the squire,
you live in a palace
where even chandeliers have sapphires
I stand in a train
packed like sardines in a can,
you stand beside a well
which is a wish granting factory for those without a plan
I sit in a cubicle
where even a broken clock is not enough to make the day come to a halt,
you sit on a hammock
where the only thing that changes with time is the kalt
you are a part of the world
where you can go away to Hawaii to discover yourself,
I am a part of the world
where Cinderella can only pray to get her elves
you are in an alternate universe
dying on a hospital bed- thanking everyone and reminiscing your childhood,
I am here
dying every day on the inside - suppressing my passion for a livelihood
now that your time is up
you’re on national television,
what about me?
when mine is over will they talk about my determination?
