Yet a Poem Remains
It seems,
I've forgotten so much
Of what I once knew,
So many names and faces
Are out of my mind's view...
Memories lost
In the winds of time
Ah, but my heart still
Holds a rhyme...
Roses and you
The sky, delightfully blue.
Rainbows and butterflies
Stars dancing in midnight sky..
Humming birds twirling
In search of nectar sweet
Bumble bees, their songs
Repeat...
Who is that lady?
I can't remember her name...
I can't find my keys, its alway
The same...
Did I take this morning's pill?
Who was the actor in "Kill Bill?"
Oh, I love that singer!
I can't recall his name!
He is my favorite!
He's in the hall of fame!
Did I gas up the car yesterday?
When did sister dear say she was
Coming to stay?
Hello!
My appointment was yesterday?
Please, please don't charge me,
Can I come today?
"She writes pretty good rhyme"
My doctor said...
"I think its just age, playing around
With her head.
Get her more pads and pencils or let her
sit at her PC
At least her poetry lets her mind run free
To be...something
SPECIAL!
